Females often face social stigmas in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and are therefore discouraged to pursue a field they could make great strides in. We wanted to share a story of a girl not only pursuing but succeeding in Chemistry. We’ve made a lot of music videos in the past promoting awareness of social issues but this time we wanted to send out a message of empowerment and resilience, and we hope that after watching Stella’s story you’ll have something to think about and apply to your own life. 🙂

Don’t surround yourself with people who don’t love you for who you actually are. For example, Chad belittled Stella for dressing and acting like a “nerd,” and made her believe that there was something wrong with her. But luckily, Stella had a very supportive mother who was able to encourage her to work on her passions and love herself for who she was. Stella devoted more time to her passion with Chemistry and was able to work with the people who shared her passion. Not everyone has people like Stella’s mom in their life but I hope that through this video everyone can see that message.
