Alport Tranquil

Alport Tranquil

Today I’m bringing you in my opinion one of the most impressive and remote views in the Peak District, Alport Castle.

Now I haven’t posted the most impressive shot I took from the evening, it doesn’t have the amazing light nor are the clouds set alight with colour. This shot is just me in the moment, taking in the tranquil views, feeling completely at home and relaxed. Sometimes we as humans struggle with the work/life balance and it’s good to remind ourselves every once in a while to stop and reset.

I’d never been to Alport Castle before, despite it being on my list for a while. Truth be told, I didn’t have high hopes for it, from images I’d seen. It didn’t look to be my cup of tea and I didn’t think I could add to the great shots already taken at this location… I hold my hands up and admit I was wrong! It’s a stunning place and reasonably remote. I felt like I was in Snowdonia for a moment and staring out towards the view felt like everything was right in the world.

Keep an eye out for my shots of here during the golden hour 🙂
